What's this puppy going to cost me? | It's not possible to give a nice tidy sum for the Rickshaw Run. It's an adventure, if we could tell you the price it would be a package holiday. Below are a few things that you should think about. These costs, however, can easily be covered by your defty ability to fund raise. Any money above and beyond the stuff you blag for the charities can be put towards your costs, as long as you make it very clear to your sponsors where the money is going. This means that with a bit of effort THE RICKSHAW RUN CAN COST YOU NOTHING. Entry fee £895 per team. Your paltry entry fee you will get you: ● Entrance to the one and only Rickshaw Run and an adventure from the Kerelan coast to the desert in Rajasthan. Something to tell your grandchildren about. ● Hire of a rickshaw for the duration of the event, with all the paperwork and bureaucracy taken care of, ready to be pimped to your heart's content. ● The launch and finish line events and parties, includes tea, cakes and game of cricket against a local team, which we will no doubt lose. ● A team page on the website with blogs, gallery, a section to promote your sponsors, text message updates and live tracking with Google maps so your friends know where you are even if you don't. ● Advice on fundraising, sponsorship and getting press coverage ● Our help and advice getting visas. ● Our full time head of India branch working night and day to make sure everything is sorted for us. ● We co-ordinate directly with the charities and will provide a full report on where all your charity money has gone so you keep your sponsors and supporters informed. Visas £30 An easy visa to get. Petrol Around £100 Depends on the price of oil, but they are pretty economical. Food and Accommodation ? If you want to make it free you can sleep in the Rickshaw or camp as some did last time. If you want to live it up in hotels that can often also be done at a wide range of costs. Other expenses to consider Repairs You rickshaw has to be handed back in a reasonable condition. So if you break it you'll need to spend a bit of cash to fix it. However the parts are very cheap and anything but the most major repair (as in a completely squashed rickshaw) can be repaired for a matter of pence. Flights This depends on you and how far in advance you book it. International flights can be got for £250 if you're lucky but you are more likely to pay between £400 and £600. Charity donation £1000 This is usually raised through fundraising or sponsorship so there is no reason to pay this yourself. | | |
